THE HANDBAG AS A TIME CAPSULE

THE HANDBAG AS A TIME CAPSULE

There are things we keep long after we stop needing them.

A photograph.

A handwritten note.

A piece of jewellery.

And sometimes, a handbag.

Not because we still need it.

But because we remember who we were when we carried it.

A handbag can quietly become a time capsule.

It can hold more than our belongings.

It can hold chapters.

The bag you carried to your first interview.

The one you took on your first trip alone.

The one that was with you through university.

The one you bought when you finally achieved something you had been working towards for
years.

Years later, the object may look ordinary.

But you don’t see an ordinary bag.

You see yourself.

That is the strange emotional power of the things we live with.

They absorb our lives without us noticing.

A scratch becomes a memory.

A faded corner becomes a place you once were.

Even the things we forgot were inside can surprise us years later.

A receipt.

A photograph.

A forgotten note.

Proof that another version of you once existed.

Perhaps this is why we should think differently about the objects we choose to bring into our
lives.

Not everything needs to be sentimental.

Not every bag needs a story.

But the things we use repeatedly have the opportunity to become part of one.

And that is something a trend cannot manufacture.

A trend can tell you what to buy today.

It cannot tell you what you will remember ten years from now.

That is something only life can decide.

So perhaps the most beautiful handbag is not necessarily the one everyone notices when you
walk into a room.

It is the one you notice years later when you open your wardrobe.

And suddenly remember everything.

The places.

The people.

The woman you were.

And the woman you became.

Because perhaps true timelessness is not simply about a design surviving time.

It is about becoming part of it.

Love your style, love planet, love Sarjaa.
